Quinteto de Mujeres

Camila Arriva is an Argentinian multifaceted singer based in Berlin. With a degree in Voice and Tango from the National University of the Arts, her repertoire ranges from academic to popular, with a particular focus on Argentine tango.

MUJERES is a work approached from our gender condition.
The repertoire consists of tangos, waltzes and milongas, composed, reversioned, interpreted and recorded by women, ranging from the early twentieth century to the present day and arranged with a modern sound and a style that invites to dance.

Some of the works focus on major topics of contemporary Latin American feminism: femicide, street harassment and female empowerment.

The objective is to highlight the value of women’s work in the two centuries of gender history at a time of rupture with the tango patriarchy.
